A Proposal for the Sustaining of the Economy and the Betterment of Humanity.

Most of the news I've caught wind of lately has revolved around the continuing deterioration of the American economy and suggestions of how to revive and continue to sustain it. One popular idea is to cut military spending heavily, which I love the idea of but fear that the world is not yet ready for pacifism. If America were to lay all arms down and propose a level of global unity, it might work, but it would have to do a lot of things. A major factor of the proposal relies not on our own system, but that of other countries. The matter of citizenship, borders, and nationality may become obsolete by proposing global trust, but I see no harm in this. History has recorded the growth of every tribe as faithfully as the winners can, and the internet is now allowing the losers to get their say in, so our consciousness of our past is slowly coming together. It's a shame that we aren't. If America were to eliminate its fighting forces entirely it would certainly send a message, one of trust, one of faith in the human race. That's a faith the whole world needs, though, not just one country, which is why I have doubts the act would be successful. Global peace means every human being working towards the common goal of making life as bearable as possible and preparing the next generation to carry this on as long as we see fit.

The next generation is where my plan comes in. I propose that the government take over the pornographic industry and produce wank material with education as the main purpose. I realize this does not seem likely, but hear me out before you move on. The insipring idea behind this action is to better protect and provide for the men and women who donate their bodies and lives toward the sexual pleasing of those incapable of acquiring a sex partner, be it a child that has yet to comprehend its own mind, let alone the mind of another human, the physically undesirable who is cast aside by society, whatever the reason, people will always need a spank bank. The people involved in the creation of this deserve better payment and regular medical services, and the fact that the pornographic industry, even with the advent of the myriad of sources for leaks on the internet, remains a billion-dollar industry is enough alone to make this idea worth considering, if not adopting immediately.

The porn industry is often demonized, but people don't realize the crucial role it has played in our society in the last century and beyond. While it does act as a method of releasing sexual desires without the actual act of procreation, and while its business practices and treatment of human beings has often been far from ethical, pornography also serves to educate those unaware of how to perform physical acts of passion, albeit at this point quite misguidedly. You may object to the idea of using pornography as a method of teaching, but with so many parents uncomfortable with the subject, religion steadily depicting sexual activity as a foul, sinful act, and many school programs teaching abstinence-only sex ed or avoiding the topic altogether (a rarity in modern times, but I wouldn't be surprised to find schools in this country without a sexual education class), how are children to learn? Obviously this hasn't been a problem in the past, but as we evolve we find new and better ways of doing the things our ancestors have done; why can we not improve the way we make life? We began creating life haphazardly, simply raping our mates without question, without warning, without a name for the hands on our arms, let alone the grotesque creature that would emerge from our mates' opening nine months later. As humanity evolved, so too did our mating rituals, until we reach modern times, when we have discovered enough methods of procreation to fill a calendar with them.

Several years ago, I overheard a friend of mine speak a misconception pornography has tried to make fact: that women enjoy having men ejaculate on them. Considering the implications of the act, I find it hard to reach that conclusion, barring the woman having been exposed regularly to the pornography that perpetuates this idea throughout her formative years. The only reason I find it sexy is for that reason. The act of pulling out and ejaculating on a womans face is in essence an act of punishment, not an act of affection. It is a statement, to the effect that she is not worthy of bearing your child, the very purpose of her existence. I realize that sounds cold, but a man's only biological purpose is to impregnate; the only superior quality of men to women is that their lives are easier, outside of that they are equal. My friend's conviction of this misconception is telling of just how much we learn from what we see, even in something so simple. If the government were to control the production of pornographic material, they could instead be made to make sex less about the mans pleasure and more about mutual ecstasy, program us to love one another, instead of take advantage.

There is a counter-argument to this proposal, I imagine more, but they boil down to this: sex should be about procreation, not pleasure. This is a traditional view, stemming largely from humanity's ignorance of their own biology, fear of the diseases spread through sexual contact, and birth control methods. Today we can not only control a woman's ability to conceive with medication, at the same time decreasing the pain of their monthly cycles, we can also competently control the diseases that took so many lives in the past. While condoms are not foolproof and not all STDs have reliable cures, these flaws shoulder far less blame than ignorant, foolhardy sexual practices and the social shame connected with sexual activity and the contraction of such diseases. Because let's face it, human beings are physically wired from their conception to want sex; it's the part of our programming that has kept us here so long, the desire to copulate. We enjoy it, we take a great deal of comfort from it, it is a truly wonderful act, thought by many to be one of the greatest pleasures in life, though if such a thing actually exists, we've yet to reach a consensus. We are all too different.

If the government took control of the pornographic industry, it could also be regulated and more easily distributed, eliminating the need to risk the safety of your IP browsing questionable sites run by parasitic identity thiefs or spam makers. Distribution could be done with shops, one in every town, creating jobs to staff them. The film industry would also benefit, as the productions could be professionally staffed, allowing for the writing of scripts, the employ of multiple cameras, and an excellent starting point for aspiring filmmakers, because a simpler project is difficult to conceive.  Film schools could offer internships for their students in government run porn studios, they could learn their trade, gain experience for their resume, build connections, and move on to Hollywood.

(Speaking of Hollywood, my next entry will be on that very topic.)

I realize this plan is not without its flaws. With the evolution of technology, the entertainment industry in general is struggling to keep up as their money begins to dwindle along with their control of information. For many years our society's information was controlled entirely by these private entities, many of whom had their own gains, their own needs in mind instead of the betterment of humanity. If the government is truly for the people, an entity put in existence by the people with the purpose of providing information, comfort, and direction for those people, the flow of information needs to be in the hands of the government. That, though, is only true if the government is truly serving the people, working for humanity. At this point, our government is not functioning in this capacity. This proposal would be a significant start towards our governing body doing its job properly. It'll do until we can finally trust one another enough to stop creating weapons and work together, spreading love, trust, and happiness, to help all on this Earth to enjoy the lives they had no choice in living.
